2003 Brookland House and Garden Tour

Gerrety and Bragg Real Estate supports the Brookland Garden Club, who on Sunday, June 8th showed us a delightful time touring Brookland’s finest homes and Gardens. Feel free to check out some of our photos below. At Island Jim’s we were served great margaritas while Jim Stiegman guided us through his “island” and explained how all the tropical plants got there as a great musician serenaded us from his chair on the sand beach!
Then it was off to Brookland Mansion where DC TV gave us a tour and an education about making and producing films.
Slipping over to Otis Street we couldn't fail to be impressed by the "lawn of moss that greeted us there.
At the Monastery Gardens, the Head Gardener conducted the tour and answered all of our questions while introducing us to the some of the most beautiful roses we've seen. We wrote down the rose names and hopefully will be able to add a few to our own home gardens.
We then went to 14th Street where we had an extra special treat of viewing Mr. Rooney’s beautiful sculpture.
And to top off the tour we headed to The Ice Cream Station on 12th St. and redeemed our coupon. Hot Fudge Sundaes were the perfect way to end our day! Delicious!
In closing we wish to thank Jeff Wilson, and all the volunteers who worked so hard putting this wonderfully successful tour together.
